Pension Administration (Including New NHS Pension Scheme)

Fairway Training offers a comprehensive Pension Scheme administration service to GP practices.

Benefits of outsourcing pensions administration

All areas of administration will be dealt with using Pensions Online where necessary. These include:

  • Annual SD55 cyclic update
  • SS10 completion for new starters
  • Closures of SD55s when appropriate
  • Calculation of Total Pensionable Pay
  • Processing AW8 forms for retirements
  • Processing Ill Health retirement applications
  • Completion of AW136 forms for preservations
  • Completion of documentation in the case of an employee's death
  • Ensuring compliance on re-employment regulations

As the Pension Scheme evolves, the administration service will take full account of, and incorporate, all changes required by the NHS Pensions Agency. In addition to the above the Practice will still have access to the unique support service operated by Fairway Training and will still receive Pensions In Practice newsletters and staff information bulletins.

How does the service operate?

Initial Setup
At the commencement of the contract, information is required for each member of staff employed at the practice. A customised form is available to enable the collation of such information or print outs from your current payroll system can be used.

Ongoing Procedures
Each quarter a relevant report (usually a payroll print) needs to be forwarded to enable Fairway Staff to “audit” your pension records throughout the year. The report should include:

  • Details of hours paid
  • Employees and Employers contributions
  • Added Years contributions
  • Pensionable Pay information

Practices are still required to complete form GP1 and a copy would be sent to Fairway Training.
